Overview
What Licklider is for, how to start quickly, and how to use the Getting Started guides.
Use Overview when you are new to Licklider and need to decide whether to start by understanding what the product does or by moving directly to a first result.
This section is the fastest path from a first visit to those two starting points. It does not replace the full method or quality-check documentation, and it is not the right place for detailed import requirements or figure and test selection.
What this section helps you do
The pages in Getting Started help you:
- understand what Licklider is designed to do
- get from sign-in to a first result
- prepare tabular data that imports cleanly
- choose an appropriate test or figure for a first analysis
- learn the core terms used across the docs

What you will find in this section
Overview
Use this section to understand what Licklider is for and how a first session begins.
- What This Product Does explains the product's scope, what it helps you do, and what it does not attempt to do.
- Quickstart shows the shortest path from sign-in to a first result.
Other Getting Started sections
If Overview is not what you need right now, the rest of Getting Started helps you handle the next layer of setup and decision-making.
Data Requirements
Use this section before or during import if you need to confirm that your file, table shape, and columns are ready for analysis.
It covers supported file formats, wide vs long structure, required columns, special columns such as ID or timepoint, and common import problems.
Decision Guides
Use this section when your data is already in place and you need to choose the right analytical path.
It helps you choose a statistical test, choose a figure, and follow common workflows based on dataset shape.
Concepts and Terminology
Use this section when you need a stable reference for the language used throughout the docs.
- Glossary defines the recurring terms used across setup, analysis, quality checks, figures, and reporting.
What this section does not cover
- Detailed method reference pages → see Methods
- Quality checks and disclosures in depth → see Quality Checks
- Figure-specific interpretation and customization in depth → see Figures and Visualization
